Feels Like Home

It has been a good week for the Bauers family. I have managed to unpack all the needed boxes and the house is beginning to feel like a home. :)

Speaking of homes, we found a house to rent in a newer developement in Loveland. It is a 3 bedroom, tri-level home with an open kitchen and living room area. Kalten has his own room (which he has already managed to make smell like a preteen boy) and the girls share a room. We have a deck off of our kitchen with a view of the mountains. It is a peaceful place to sit and read the bible in the morning. I will post pictures as soon as I can find the camera.

Kalten and Caydee are attending the public school here in Loveland and adjusting well. Caydee loves being in school and is beginning to read. She has made several friends and one classmate even lives four houses down from us. His name is Joey. Of course, Kalten thinks school is boring, but has made several friends also. His closest friend is Abby. She moved here this summer from Oklahoma and he has shared stories about her every day after school. Of course, according to Kalten, she has her faults, the biggest being that she is a Sooner's fan :P. Other than that, I am excited at how well they have adjusted to the change. Kids really are resillient.

After a little hunting and some searching outside the Lutheran Church (shh, don't tell), we have found a church home at Immanuel Lutheran church here in Loveland. You can take the girl out of Lutheran land, but you can't take the Lutheran out of the girl. ;) It is a very active church and I cannot wait to get involved in the children's ministry. We are also taking Finanacial Peace University at Crossroads church in Loveland. It has been quite enlightening so far and I am looking forward to learning more. Our goal by the end is to have the financial knowledge for me to continue to stay at home. (Yes, I am a stay at home mom right now and loving it!)

Our first two weeks here were spent without Eric as he was traveling, but he has been able to spend the last week working in Denver and has been home in the evenings and on the weekend. It has been so wonderful spending time with him again. I cannot share with you how much I have missed him and how complete our family feels now. It has been a long journey, but we are finally together again and I hope to never be apart like that again.

God has also blessed me richly through my high school friend, Cheryl. Not long after moving, I discovered that she lives less than 10 blocks away and has a son that is 10 and a daughter that is 4. Even better, she is a sister in Christ and has been a true blessing. God has provided more than I could have asked for.

We had our first visitors this week. Papa Art, Nana, and Mitzy came and visited us for a few days. The kids and I were so excited to show them everything we love about our new home. We took them to Denver one night to eat at Bubba Gumps and show them the 16th street mall. The rest of the time was spent showing them our favorite places in Loveland. Our only regret was that they didn't stay longer and there is so much more we wanted to show them. Guess they will have to come again soon.

Other than the above, our free time is spent outside mostly. There are so many things to do here. Kalten and Caydee love the skate park and Jess loves the sprinkler parks. The whole lifestyle is oriented towards being outdoors and we are really enjoying it. We have spent a lot of time exploring the area including a trip to Estes Park and some time at a pumpkin farm outside of Fort Collins. The kids have really enjoyed the time together and so have I. God has provided greatly for us. My prayer is that this finds you as happy as we are. May God bless you greatly.

  3. I'm so happy for you that your family is finally together and happy. I know you went through some troubling, doubt-filled times, but God has brought you to this place and it seems like it is working out great so far. I'm sure there will be bumps in the road, as there is for everyone, but you have such a strong faith and family and friends who support you. Awesome!
