So, I have been debating on how honest to be on here. I decided to go with my personality and share all the ups and downs of our new journey. It was a wild week here. Eric returned home Tuesday night after being gone for a week and a half. Unfortunately, the kids did not see him much until Wednesday night due to his work schedule. We have missed him a lot, but still do not see him much as he is still working a lot of hours. It has been a growing experience for me and I again have to share how greatful I am for Cheryl, along with our church activities. They keep me busy and focused.
We were planning on returning to Nebraska this weekend for our nephews baptism, but it was not to be. Eric has a job he needs to complete before he can have any time off and he did not finish it today due to equipment failure. It is a great disappointment, but God has a plan that we cannot see right now. We are hoping to make it back next weekend, God willing.
Kalten also surprised us by bringing home two failing papers two weeks ago and four failing papers this week. This is quite disturbing for us as he is a smart kid. We are trying to get to the root of the problem, although I am pretty sure it has to do with the move. He also shared with me that the one good friend he has made at school, Abby, is moving back to Oklahoma. I hurt for him. This move has been so hard on him. I continually pray for him to make some good friends and find his place here. We are also struggling with his teacher who does not return phone calls. I guess I will be dragging the girls in there to talk to her. Oh well, such is the public school system here.
On a lighter note, Caydee is excelling in school. She has made several friends and is starting to read. I cannot get over how big she is. She also has two neighborhood friends, who are at our house regularly. She also enjoys Sunday school and is excited to start a program at our church called Laser Lights. This program encourages students in K-5 to find ways to be a part of the worship service. We are very excited about this.
Jessica is growing so fast. We painted something called stop bite on her thumb last week and she has stopped sucking her thumb. Yea! It was hard the first few days, but she is doing great now. I am amazed at how much more she is talking. Sometimes I wonder if she will ever stop. Between her and Caydee, there is never a quiet moment. I remember to cherish these moments because they will pass so quickly.
Except for the few setbacks, things have been great here. I love the area and the weather. Our new church is active and we are enjoying being a part of it. I miss all of my Nebraska friends, but am enjoying this new journey God has let us on. The opportunities for growth are never ending. God's blessings to each of you.
