Well we survived another October/November. (For those of you that don't know, in a three week period, we have 3 birthdays, 2 anniversarys and Halloween. It makes for a very hectic time. This year we added in a trip to NE and a demolition of our kitchen. Needless to say, we are enjoying the calm of this last week.
We started with a trip to Nebraska in mid October. In the slideshow above, you can see some of the highlights; including smashing apples, lawn mower/wagon rides, visits with grandparents and cousins, seeing friends, a breast cancer walk, and meeting Jan Brett (a children's author). Oh, we also watched the NE vs. CO game, but that was definately not a high point of the trip. We finished by celebrating Caydee's 6th birthday with monkey bread and a trip back to CO. BTW- Caydee did not think spending 8 hours in the van was a good way to spend her birthday. She would agree that seeing everyone was awesome, though.
The day after we returned, our kitchen went through demolition for a crack in the ceiling caused by a twisted joist. We were without the kitchen for a few days. :( They finished up in time for us to celebrate Jessica's 3rd birthday. Caydee helped make a surprise cake and we had a fun time celebrating at home before she got to spend the evening with her best friend, Sam, while Eric and I went out on a date night. Believe me, Jessica didn't mind as she got to go to Bounce (a place full of inflatable slides/houses/etc.
Next came my birthday and halloween. The kids has several halloween parties and finished up by trick or treating with their friends. Kalten went with just his friend, Noah, and was very happy to not have parents tagging along. They had a great time and the weather was amazing. I could not have asked for a more beautiful night.
We finished off by celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary with Eric doing reports and me at Financial Peace University. Not very r0mantic, I know, but we will make up for it later this month. God has blessed us greatly and we are not complaining.
All in all, it was a crazy but wonderful few weeks. I hope this finds you all warm and well.
